We have had a few requests to do a Sewing Day on the weekend for those who work and also everyone else!
Please join us Saturday, June 23rd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the West Des Moines Public Library, 4000 Mills Civic Parkway, for our charity sewing day. Bring your sewing machine, electrical cords, cutting mat, ruler, rotary cutter and other basic sewing supplies. Family and friends are also invited to help us cut and sew easy patterns for quilt tops, placemats and pillowcases.
Please sign up at the May meeting, or call Deanna Wilson 987-4618 or email Deanna at firstname.lastname@example.org
For new members and a helpful reminder for those who have been active, here are the projects and where they will be donated this year. ChildServe–crib & lap quilts; Bernie Lorenze Women’s Recovery–twin quilts; Dallas, Jasper and surrounding counties Meals On Wheels–placemats; Ronald McDonald House–Pop pull tabs; St. Joseph’s Shelter–toiletries; Valley View Village–clothing protectors; ConKerr Cancer and Youth Shelters–pillowcases.
We also encourage donations of 100% cotton fabrics. Large size pieces suitable for backings are always needed.
